The first Kagyu Monlam was held in the Buddhist Centre in Grabnik on 9-11 June 2010. It was the first ever Kagyu Monlam to be held outside Asia.
The second Kagyu Monlam in Grabnik, Poland (2011) was crowned with a festive celebration of 900 years of the Karmapa lineage. The event was preceded by a celebration of the 80th birthday of Very Venerable Tenga Rinpoche. Over 400 participants from Poland and other European countries gathered during the 2nd Monlam session to walk in a dignified procession in which the statue of the First Karmapa, Dusum Khyenpa was carried.
The third Polish Kagyu Monlam was held from 7-9 September 2012, led this time by Venerable Sangter Tulku Rinpoche.
His Holiness Karmapa donated calligraphies, as well as the Polish edition of a book of his lectures, dedicating the income for the organization of the Kagyu Monlam in Poland.
This year the fourth Kagyu Monlam Poland took place from the 24th to 26th of August 2013, presided over by His Eminence Sangye Nyenpa Rinpoche. On the first day there was a solemn procession with the image of H.H. Karmapa. After this, Rinpoche offered the Mandala of the Universe and symbols of the enlightened Body, Speech, Mind, Qualities and Activities to the Karmapa’s throne. Rinpoche also gave the opening speech.
As usual, Kagyu Monlam ended with the Marme Monlam ceremony, during which all the participants recited prayers holding blazing lamps in their hands and then, chanting the mantra Karmapa Kyenno, people placed the lamps around the Karmapa’s flag in the middle of the Centre's courtyard.
